About Us

At our church, we believe that every person is a beloved child of God, and we welcome and embrace all who come through our doors. Our community is made up of people who are passionate about serving God and our neighbors, and we have been doing so for over 190 years since our founding in 1834. We strive to create a welcoming and accepting space where everyone can worship, learn, and grow in their faith. Whether you are new to the area or just searching for a new spiritual home, we invite you to join us and experience the love and grace of God in our community.

Rev. Katie Glass

Rev. Katie Glass is a compassionate and approachable minister dedicated to making the love of God accessible to all people. Drawing inspiration from Micah 6:8, which guides her ministry, she passionately seeks to embody the principles of justice, kindness, and humility in all aspects of her work.

Born and raised in a military family, Katie’s upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for diversity and a profound understanding of the importance of connecting with people from all walks of life. This background fuels her desire to create inclusive and welcoming spaces where everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, can experience the transformative power of God's love.

Graduating with a Master of Divinity from the Perkins School of Theology in 2019, Katie embarked on her journey as a commissioned minister, eager to bring hope and healing to those in need. Her theological education provided her with a strong foundation in scripture, theology, and pastoral care, equipping her to serve her communities with wisdom and compassion.

In her five years of ministry experience, which have taken her to Alexandria, Eunice, Opelousas, Covington and now Bogalusa, Katie has demonstrated a genuine commitment to building meaningful relationships and walking alongside others on their spiritual journeys. Whether through preaching, teaching, or pastoral care, she strives to meet people where they are and offer support, guidance, and encouragement along the way.

In addition to her local ministry, Rev. Glass is actively involved in the broader Methodist community, serving on conference teams like the LGBTQIA+ task force and contributing her insights and expertise to the District Committee on Ministry (DCOM). Through her involvement in these organizational bodies, she seeks to shape the future of Methodist ministry and ensure that it remains relevant, responsive, and welcoming.

Rev. Katie Glass's greatest desire is to make God's love known and accessible to all people, inviting them into deeper relationship with the Divine and with one another. With Micah 6:8 as her guiding verse, she continues to embody the values of justice, kindness, and humility in her ministry, striving to be a beacon of hope and compassion in a world in need of healing.

When she's not immersed in her ministry, Rev. Katie Glass enjoys the company of her two cats, Poppy and Lily. Katie tends to a vibrant aquarium, nurturing an array of colorful fish. A fervent space exploration enthusiast, Rev. Glass eagerly follows the latest cosmic discoveries, finding inspiration in the wonders of the universe. In her leisure moments, she channels her creativity through crafting, indulging in DIY projects that allow her imagination to soar.
